وطن کی فکر کر ناداں، مصیبت آنے والی ہے
تری بربادیوں کے مشورے ہیں آسمانوں میں
Watan Ki Fikr Kar Nadaan, Museebat Aanay Wali Hai,
Teri Barbadiyon Ke Mashware Hain Aasmanon Mein
Think of your homeland, O ignorant one — even the heavens whisper plans of your downfall.
نگاہ بلند، سخن دلنواز، جاں پر سوز
یہی ہے رختِ سفر میرِ کارواں کے لیے
Nigah Buland, Sukhan Dilnawaaz, Jaan Par Soz,
Yahi Hai Rakht-e-Safar Meer-e-Karwaan Ke Liye
High vision, gentle speech, and a burning soul — such are the provisions for a true leader.
نواےِ وقت کا ہے مردِ حُر جوابِ آخرین
کہ جہاں میں دیرپا کچھ بھی نہیں
Nawa-e-Waqt Ka Hai Mard-e-Hur Jawaab-e-Aakhireen,
Ke Jahan Mein Dairpa Kuch Bhi Nahi
The free man answers time’s eternal question — nothing in this world is everlasting.
شکوہ بھی ہے ان سے، محبت بھی ہے ان سے
امت ہیں وہی، مگر غلامی بھی انہی کی
Shikwa Bhi Hai Un Se, Mohabbat Bhi Hai Un Se,
Ummat Hain Wohi, Magar Ghulami Bhi Unhi Ki
We complain to them, yet love them — we are their followers, yet remain enslaved by them.
ہے وہی تیرے زمانے کا امامِ برحق
جو تجھے حاضر و موجود سے بیزار کرے
Hai Wohi Tere Zamane Ka Imam-e-Barhaq,
Jo Tujhe Haazir-o-Maujood Se Bezaar Kare
The true leader of your time is he who makes you despise the shallow present and seek the eternal.
تو نے صحراؤں میں بھی سیکھی ہے آزادی کی خو
ہم کو گھروں میں بھی قید کا مزہ آتا ہے
Tu Ne Sahraon Mein Bhi Seekhi Hai Azadi Ki Kho,
Hum Ko Gharon Mein Bhi Qaid Ka Maza Aata Hai
You learned freedom even in deserts, while we find comfort in the luxury of captivity.
تمیزِ بندہ و آقا مٹا دی تُو نے اقبال
جو آزادی کا پیغام لے کے آیا تھا
Tameez-e-Banda-o-Aaqa Mita Di Tu Ne Iqbal,
Jo Azadi Ka Paighaam Le Ke Aaya Tha
You erased the line between slave and master, O Iqbal — the one who brought the message of freedom.
